Mike has maintained a law office in the southern metropolitan area of Atlanta since 1981. Even though his “home base” has always been the State of Georgia, he has represented individuals and has tried cases in the states of Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma, Arkansas, California, Tennessee and Missouri.  During his career he has handled more than two thousand cases and has tried more than one hundred and fifty jury trials.

Mike has always maintained a varied practice and currently concentrates on criminal defense litigation including all misdemeanor and felony offenses and complex business and civil litigation.  He has served as a Municipal Court Judge for the past twenty three years and currently serves as Judge for the City of Fayetteville.

During the past twenty two years Mike has handled more than a dozen cases in which the State sought the death penalty and has yet to have a client executed.

Mike has seen all facets of the criminal justice system, having begun his career as a police officer in Clayton County, Georgia in 1972 and then climbing the ladder to investigator, prosecutor and part time Municipal Court Judge (while still maintaining his busy law practice).  He has served as State Court Solicitor Pro Tem in Fayette and  Clayton counties and has also served as State Court Judge Pro Tem in Clayton county.
